What will I study?
AS
- Unit 1 Mechanics
- This covers motion, forces, work and energy
- Unit 2 Electron Waves and Photons
- This covers electric current, resistance, circuits, waves and quantum physics.
- Unit 3 Practical Skills in Physics 1
- Students will be assessed through qualitative, quantitative and evaluative tasks that test their practical and investigative skills.
A2
- Unit 4 The Newtonian World
- This covers Newton’s laws, momentum, circular motion and oscillations and thermal physics.
- Unit 5 Fields Particles and the Frontiers of Physics
- his covers electric and magnetic fields, capacitors, nuclear physics, medical imaging and modelling the Universe.
- Unit 6 Practical Skills in Physics 2
- This unit assesses practical and investigative skills within contexts encountered during A level Physics. As for AS Unit 3, there are three tasks: qualitative, quantitative and evaluative.
What are the opportunities after A level?
