How to use the Canon Palmer Home School Internet Link
Overview
The EASYLINK home school internet link provides access to your school personal documents and all your departmental lesson resources in the Shared area from home. It also allows you to edit and produce resources from home and save then straight into your school document area. Important point: The site can only be accessed using Internet Explorer 6, 7 and 8.
Logging in:
Just enter your school username and password when prompted. If you are told that the school certificate is unreliable ignore the prompt and continue- there is no danger to your computer. If you experience problems when logging into your home directory go to Help with EasyLink remote access for more help then return here to continue.
Opening Resources, editing them, and saving them.
When you first log in you will be presented with a choice of Home Directory (your My Documents’ at school) and ‘Learning Resources’ (the departmental Shared area at school).

Home Directory
The documents in your ‘My Documents’ folder at school will appear as they do on the computer at school. Find the file you want to open and double click on it and start editing. If you press save when the document is open it will save it back onto your school computer. However, it is recommended that you save the document from Easylink onto your home computer and then drag and drop it back into Easylink when you have finished. Problems logging in to Home Directory.
Learning Resources
All the departmental resources that appear in the Shared area on the school network also appear in Easylink only called ‘Learning Resources’. The resources are organised by department and then by year group. To open a document it is quicker to right click on it and select ‘Save File As’ and then ‘Open’- ignore the ‘Open File’ option.

Using the hand in point within Learning Resources
Your teacher may ask you to hand in work to them directly from your home computer. To do this open Learning Resources. Open the departmental area where you need to hand in the work, find the departmental Hand in Point, open your year group, find your teacher and group, then right click and Select Open as web folder. Drag and drop your work into the folder that appears.
